Packing List for Costa Rica!

If you are joining us in Costa Rica, it’s time to start thinking about what to pack for your unforgettable adventure. To ensure you have everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable trip, we’ve put together the ultimate packing list for Costa Rica.

Clothing:

Costa Rica’s tropical climate calls for lightweight, breathable clothing. Pack a combination of comfortable shirts, shorts, and lightweight pants. Dri-fit clothing is the best option. Don’t forget to bring swimsuits for beach days and water activities. It’s also a good idea to pack a light rain jacket or poncho, as the weather can be unpredictable. Remember to bring a hat or cap to protect yourself from the sun. Plan for everything you bring to get wet, so the quicker your items dry, the better! The most important thing you can bring, is good water shoes. Shoes or strapped sandals that you are able to hike in and get in the water with.

Outdoor Gear:

A waterproof backpack was a life saver for me! Find the one I purchased here. Another option is to find a waterproof fanny pack. A reusable water bottle is essential to stay hydrated, we will have access to clean water to fill it up! Don’t forget to pack sunglasses, sunscreen, and plenty of insect repellent to protect yourself from the sun and pesky bugs. At night you may want a headlamp because Costa Rica has 12 hours of darkness everyday of the year.

Electronics:

Capture the memories of your Costa Rican adventure with the right electronics. Pack your mobile phone and charger for communication and navigation or consider bringing a camera and extra batteries to capture the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife encounters. Remember to pack a portable power bank to keep your devices charged, we will be without power for days at a time.

Travel Documents and Money:

Ensure a smooth journey by organizing your travel documents in advance. Don’t forget your passport. It’s also wise to carry credit/debit cards and some cash for convenience. American dollars are accepted in most places in Costa Rica.

Toiletries and Medications:

Pack your personal toiletries, including toothbrush, toothpaste, and any other essentials you need. If you take prescription medications, be sure to bring an adequate supply for the duration of your trip. It’s also a good idea to carry a basic first aid kit with band-aids, antiseptic, and any other items you might need.

With the right packing list, you’ll be well-prepared. Costa Rica promises an unforgettable experience. So pack smart, embrace the Pura Vida spirit, and get ready for an incredible journey in this tropical
